About the Easton Observer
After one year of living in town, Easton resident and Fairfield native Jess Deutsch saw a need for hyper-local journalism. She founded the Easton Observer alongside fellow Easton resident Alan Pittman to fill that gap: to give Easton a trusted, independent source of news that covers the town’s civic life without sensationalism or outside influence.
The Easton Observer is a print newspaper, and that’s by design. Where social media brings noise, the Observer brings news. We cover what our editor and reporters believe Easton residents need to know: town government, schools, community organizations, local businesses, and the everyday life of our small town.
We are locally owned, independently operated, and accountable only to our readers.
Our Mission
To report on the issues and information that directly affect Easton residents’ daily lives and civic responsibilities without bias or drama.
